Delightful chewy cookies filled with warm caramel and coated in cinnamon sugar, bringing back memories of home baking.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp cream of tartar
- 2 tsp ground cinnamon
- Caramel candies or sauce
- Pinch of salt
- Additional cinnamon and sugar for rolling
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, cream together softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy (about 2-3 minutes).
- Add eggs one at a time along with vanilla extract; mix until well combined.
- In another bowl, whisk together flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt, then slowly incorporate into wet ingredients until just combined.
- Chop caramel candies if needed and prepare with caramel sauce.
- Take about 1.5 tablespoons of dough, flatten it, place caramel in the center, and wrap the dough around it to form a ball. Roll in a cinnamon-sugar mixture.
- Place cookie balls on prepared sheets, baking for 10-12 minutes until edges are set but centers are soft. Let cool on the baking sheet before transferring to wire racks.
- Serve warm and enjoy!
Notes
For best results, chill dough for 30 minutes before baking to intensify flavors. Use parchment paper to prevent sticking.
