- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup cocoa powder
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt
- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup vegetable oil
- 1 cup milk
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup heavy cream (for ganache)
- 8 oz dark chocolate (for ganache)
- Halloween-themed decorations (sprinkles, gummy worms, eyeball candies)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease cake pans.
- Sift together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl.
- In another bowl, whisk together sugar, eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla until smooth.
- Gradually combine wet and dry ingredients until no lumps remain.
- Divide batter into prepared pans and bake for 30-35 minutes.
- Let cakes cool for 10 minutes before transferring to wire racks.
- Heat cream for ganache until steaming, then pour over broken chocolate and stir until smooth.
- Once cooled, stack cakes with ganache in between and pour remaining ganache on top; decorate with Halloween treats.
Notes
Ensure cakes are completely cooled before decorating to avoid melting.
