Description

A decadent chocolate cake decorated with whimsical Halloween themes, perfect for autumn celebrations.


Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup heavy cream (for ganache)
  • 8 oz dark chocolate (for ganache)
  • Halloween-themed decorations (sprinkles, gummy worms, eyeball candies)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease cake pans.
  2. Sift together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together sugar, eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla until smooth.
  4. Gradually combine wet and dry ingredients until no lumps remain.
  5. Divide batter into prepared pans and bake for 30-35 minutes.
  6. Let cakes cool for 10 minutes before transferring to wire racks.
  7. Heat cream for ganache until steaming, then pour over broken chocolate and stir until smooth.
  8. Once cooled, stack cakes with ganache in between and pour remaining ganache on top; decorate with Halloween treats.

Notes

Ensure cakes are completely cooled before decorating to avoid melting.
