Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare your skillet or baking dish.
- In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
- Pour hot water over the batter, leaving it untouched.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30 to 35 minutes, or until the top is crisp and the center is jiggly yet set.
- Cool before serving and dust with powdered sugar or serve with vanilla ice cream.
Notes
Allow cooling slightly for better texture. For a twist, add nuts or serve with fresh berries.
