- 4 large eggs

- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup roasted and chopped hazelnuts
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, beat butter and sugars until light and fluffy, about 3-5 minutes.
- Add eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Gradually mix in milk and vanilla extract until fully incorporated.
- Slowly add dry mixture to wet mixture, alternating with milk; avoid overmixing.
- Fold in chopped hazelnuts until evenly distributed.
- Divide batter between prepared pans and bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let cakes cool in pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Whip up frosting while cakes cool, then layer and frost cakes as desired.
Notes
For an added touch, consider using hazelnut liqueur in the frosting. Ensure all ingredients are at room temperature for best results.
