- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup whole milk
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
- In another bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in vanilla extract.
- Alternately add the dry ingredients and milk, stirring gently until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for about 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Cool the cake in the pan for about 15 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Serve warm with whipped cream or let cool completely for storage.
Notes
For added flavor, sprinkle cinnamon sugar on top before baking. Letting the cake rest overnight enhances the flavor.
