Description

A nostalgic and delicious Cinnamon Cake that warms the heart and brings families together.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup whole milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
  3. In another bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in vanilla extract.
  5. Alternately add the dry ingredients and milk, stirring gently until just combined.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
  7. Bake for about 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  8. Cool the cake in the pan for about 15 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
  9. Serve warm with whipped cream or let cool completely for storage.

Notes

For added flavor, sprinkle cinnamon sugar on top before baking. Letting the cake rest overnight enhances the flavor.
