- 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
- 1 cup whole milk, warmed
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons cinnamon
- 1/4 cup brown sugar (optional)
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast, allowing it to sit until foamy.
- Mix in melted butter, eggs, flour, and salt until the dough comes together.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for about 60 minutes until doubled in size.
- Mix sugar and cinnamon in a bowl to create the filling.
- Punch down the dough, roll it out into a rectangle, spread melted butter, and sprinkle with the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
- Roll the dough tightly, slice it lengthwise, twist the halves, and shape into a loaf.
- Let the loaf rise for 30 minutes in a greased pan.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown.
- Allow to cool for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
For dairy-free, substitute almond or oat milk and coconut oil. Experiment with flavored extracts for unique touches.
