Description

Delightful crunchy onion ring chips cloaked in Parmesan and herbs, perfect for any gathering.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large yellow or sweet onions
  • 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • Vegetable or canola oil, for frying

Instructions

  1. Peel and slice onions into rings, about a quarter-inch thick.
  2. Set up a breading station with bowls for flour, beaten eggs, and a mixture of breadcrumbs, Parmesan, and spices.
  3. Dip each onion ring in flour, then beaten eggs, and finally coat them in the breadcrumb mixture.
  4. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  5. Fry coated onion rings in batches until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  6. Remove fried chips and place on paper towels to absorb excess oil.
  7. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

For a gluten-free option, use gluten-free breadcrumbs. For dairy-free, substitute Parmesan with a dairy-free cheese.
