Description

Delicious, golden-brown crispy potato balls filled with garlic and fresh herbs, perfect for family gatherings and celebrations.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 medium-sized potatoes (Russets or Yukon Gold)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup chopped parsley or green onions
  • 1/2 cup cheese (optional: cheddar, mozzarella, or feta)
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup bread crumbs (Panko preferred)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Peel and boil the potatoes in salted water until tender (15–20 minutes). Drain and cool slightly.
  2. Mash the warm potatoes until smooth in a mixing bowl.
  3. Stir in minced garlic, chopped herbs, cheese (if using), and beaten eggs. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Chill the mixture in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
  5. Form small golf ball-sized portions from the mixture.
  6. Roll each ball in bread crumbs until fully coated. For extra crunch, dip in egg and coat again with breadcrumbs.
  7. Heat oil in a deep skillet over medium-high heat. Fry small batches of potato balls until golden brown (about 4-6 minutes).
  8. Drain on paper towels and serve warm.

Notes

For added flavor, feel free to experiment with spices or additional ingredients such as sautéed mushrooms.
