Description

Deliciously spiced gingerbread truffles coated in creamy chocolate, perfect for festive gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp ground ginger
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp ground allspice
  • 1/2 cup molasses
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 8 oz semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar (for dusting)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice. Stir well.
  2. In another bowl, mix together the molasses, brown sugar, and melted butter until smooth. Fold in the dry ingredients to form a soft dough.
  3. Chill the dough for 2 hours, then shape into 1-inch balls and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  4. Melt the chocolate in a double boiler or microwave, stirring frequently. Let it cool slightly.
  5. Dip each truffle into the melted chocolate, allowing excess to drip off, and place back on the tray. Dust with powdered sugar if desired.
  6. Allow the chocolate to set at room temperature or refrigerate to speed up the process.

Notes

These truffles can be frozen for up to 3 months. Thaw at room temperature before serving.
