  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1/4 tsp sea salt
  • 1/2 cup freshly brewed espresso
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
  3. Melt the dark chocolate and butter together in a microwave-safe bowl until smooth.
  4. Whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and sea salt in a separate bowl.
  5. In a large bowl, cream the melted butter and both sugars until light and fluffy.
  6. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Add in the espresso and vanilla.
  7. Gradually incorporate the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, mixing gently until just combined.
  8. Fold in the melted chocolate mixture until just combined.
