Description

A luxurious filet mignon steak topped with a rich garlic herb butter, perfect for celebrations and intimate dinners.


Ingredients

  • 2 filet mignon steaks (1.5 to 2 inches thick)
  • 2 cloves of fresh garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh thyme, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary, chopped
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and freshly cracked black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Bring filet mignon to room temperature and mince garlic and herbs.
  2. Season both sides of the steaks with salt and freshly cracked black pepper.
  3. Heat olive oil in a heavy skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the filet for 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare.
  4. Mix softened butter, minced garlic, and chopped herbs in a bowl; season with salt.
  5. Top seared filets with garlic herb butter and let rest for 5 minutes.
  6. Plate the filets and drizzle remaining melted garlic herb butter over the top to serve.

Notes

For best results, use a meat thermometer. Aim for 130°F (54°C) for medium-rare. Allow steaks to rest after cooking.
