- 4 slices of brioche or Texas toast
- 1 cup ripe strawberries, chopped
- 8 oz softened cream cheese
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 beaten egg
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- Canola or vegetable oil for frying
Instructions
- Prep the strawberries: Wash and chop strawberries, toss with sugar, and let sit for 10-15 minutes.
- Prepare the cheesecake filling: Blend cream cheese, remaining sugar, and cinnamon until smooth.
- Assemble the sandwiches: Spread cream cheese mixture on bread slices and add macerated strawberries, forming a sandwich.
- Dredge in egg wash: Dip each sandwich into beaten egg, covering both sides.
- Heat the oil: Pour oil into a skillet and heat over medium until shimmering.
- Fry the sandwiches: Fry sandwiches for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Drain and serve: Place sandwiches on paper towel to remove excess oil, and dust with powdered sugar if desired.
- Enjoy: Serve warm, optionally with whipped cream or chocolate sauce.
