Ingredients

- 2 tsp ground cinnamon

- 3/4 cup molasses
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and spices.
- Cream together butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Add molasses and egg, blending until combined.
- Gradually add the dry mix to the wet ingredients, stirring until a dough forms.
- Cover the dough with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least one hour.
- Roll the dough on a lightly floured surface to 1/4 inch thick and cut out shapes.
- Place cutouts on a lined baking sheet and bake for 8-10 minutes.
- Let cool before decorating with icing and candies.
Notes
Ensure butter is at room temperature for smoother mixing. Don’t skip the chilling step for better cookie shape.
