Description

A sweet and spiced syrup infused with ginger and molasses, perfect for enhancing your morning coffee.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup molasses
  • 2 teaspoons freshly grated ginger
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, mix together one cup of water, half a cup of brown sugar, and a quarter cup of molasses.
  2. Stir in two teaspoons of freshly grated ginger, one teaspoon of ground cinnamon, and half a teaspoon of nutmeg.
  3. Bring the mixture to a gentle boil over medium heat, stirring until the sugars are dissolved.
  4. Lower the heat and allow it to simmer for about 10 minutes.
  5. Once thickened and fragrant, remove from heat and let it cool before pouring it into a clean jar.

Notes

Store the syrup in the fridge for up to two weeks. For a sweeter taste, you can substitute some sugar for honey or maple syrup.
