Description

A delightful dish capturing the essence of Greek cuisine with mild sea bream seasoned with lemon and garlic, perfect for family gatherings and special occasions.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 whole sea bream (or snapper/trout as substitutes)
  • 4 cloves fresh garlic, minced
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 2 tablespoons high-quality extra virgin olive oil
  • Fresh herbs (dill or parsley)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Lemon slices for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Rinse the fish under cold water and pat it dry with paper towels.
  3. In a small bowl, mix minced garlic, lemon juice, and olive oil. Add salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Rub the garlic mixture all over the fish, including inside the cavity.
  5. Stuff the cavity with fresh herbs.
  6. Place the fish on a baking sheet and top with lemon slices.
  7. Roast in the oven for 25-30 minutes, until the fish is opaque and flakes easily with a fork.
  8. Let the fish rest for a few minutes before serving. Drizzle with extra olive oil and fresh lemon juice.

Notes

For a unique twist, try grilling the fish instead of roasting. Ensure even cooking by checking the thickness of the fish.
