Description

Delightful holiday cookies with a vibrant green hue and a sweet, buttery flavor, perfect for sharing with loved ones.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 12 drops green food coloring
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for rolling)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then blend in the vanilla extract and food coloring.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually mix into the wet ingredients until just combined.
  5. Chill the dough in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
  6. Scoop rounded tablespoons of dough and roll into balls, then roll in powdered sugar.
  7. Place on lined baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart. Bake for 10-12 minutes, until they just begin to crack.
  8. Let cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

For extra crinkles, press down the dough balls slightly before baking. Use parchment paper on baking sheets for easy removal.
