- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Line your baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon. Set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract until well blended.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, combining until fully incorporated.
- Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and chill in the fridge for about 30 minutes.
- Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface to about ¼-inch thick and use cookie cutters to cut out shapes.
- Bake for 8 to 10 minutes, until the edges are lightly golden.
- Allow to cool briefly before transferring to a wire rack. Decorate with icing, sprinkles, or edible glitter as desired.
Notes
Use room temperature ingredients for best results. Chill dough to maintain shape during baking.
