- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cream the softened butter and granulated sugar in a large bowl until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
- Add the egg and vanilla, mixing well after each addition.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, mixing until just combined.
- Cover and refrigerate the dough for at least 30 minutes.
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 1/4 inch thick and cut into Halloween shapes.
- Bake on a parchment-lined baking sheet for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges turn golden.
- Let the cookies cool on the sheet for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks.
- Once cooled, decorate with colorful frosting and sprinkles.
Notes
For a nuttier flavor, consider using a blend of whole wheat flour. Chilling the dough is crucial for better handling and shape retention.
