Description

Delightfully spooky Halloween cupcakes with a rich chocolate base and creamy red frosting.


Ingredients

  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup buttermilk

  • ½ cup unsalted butter (for frosting)
  • 4 cups powdered sugar (for frosting)
  • Red food coloring

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (177°C) and line a cupcake pan with paper liners.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, and baking soda.
  3. In another bowl, mix together the eggs, buttermilk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract.
  4. Slowly pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, stirring gently until just combined.
  5. Divide the batter evenly among the cupcake liners, filling them about 2/3 full. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Cool the cupcakes in the pan for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  7. For the frosting, beat the butter until creamy, then gradually add powdered sugar, vanilla, and red food coloring until light and fluffy.
  8. Apply the frosting generously on each cooled cupcake and add sprinkles for decoration.
