Description

Decadent hazelnut chocolate truffles that combine rich chocolate and roasted hazelnuts for a delightful treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz dark chocolate (at least 60% cocoa)
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup roasted hazelnuts, finely chopped
  • Cocoa powder, crushed nuts, or coconut flakes for rolling

Instructions

  1. Finely chop the dark chocolate and place it in a heatproof bowl.
  2. In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat until it starts to simmer. Pour the hot cream over the chocolate and let it sit for a minute before stirring until smooth.
  3. Add the butter and vanilla, mixing until fully combined. Cool at room temperature, then refrigerate for 1-2 hours until firm.
  4. Use a spoon or ice cream scoop to portion out the chocolate mixture. Roll each piece into a ball, then roll in cocoa powder, chopped hazelnuts, or coconut flakes.
  5. Place truffles on a parchment-lined baking sheet and refrigerate for an additional 30 minutes.
  6. Dust with cocoa powder or sprinkle sea salt before serving.

Notes

Feel free to get creative with toppings or substitutes for dietary needs. Remember to chill the mixture for easier rolling.
