Description

Delightful Hazelnut Chocolate Truffles made with rich dark chocolate and toasted hazelnuts, perfect for gatherings or as a sweet treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz dark chocolate (70% cocoa or higher)
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 cup toasted hazelnuts, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract (optional)
  • 1 tbsp espresso powder (optional)

Instructions

  1. Chop the chocolate finely.
  2. In a small saucepan, bring the heavy cream to a simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat once it bubbles.
  3. Pour the hot cream over the chopped chocolate, letting it sit for a couple of minutes, then stir until smooth.
  4. Add the butter and blend until fully incorporated.
  5. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for about 2 hours, until firm.
  6. Scoop the ganache and roll into smooth balls.
  7. Roll each truffle in finely chopped hazelnuts until coated.
  8. Chill again for 30 minutes before serving.

Notes

Ensure chocolate and cream are melted gently to maintain a smooth texture. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two weeks, or freeze for up to three months.
