Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups fresh cranberries
- 4 cups water
- ½ to 1 cup sugar (to taste)
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- Optional spices: pinch of cinnamon or cloves
Instructions
- Rinse 2 cups of fresh cranberries under cold water, removing any stems.
- In a saucepan, combine the cranberries with 4 cups of water and bring to a gentle boil over medium heat.
- Once boiling, reduce heat and let it simmer for about 10-15 minutes until the berries pop and release their juices.
- Remove from heat and strain the mixture through a fine-mesh strainer into a clean bowl or pitcher, pressing down gently to extract as much liquid as possible.

- Taste and adjust sweetness or acidity as desired.
- Allow the juice to cool to room temperature, then refrigerate to chill before serving over ice.
