Description

A creamy, savory dip that combines sautéed mushrooms, garlic, and fresh herbs, perfect for sharing during gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz fresh button or cremini mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Fresh thyme and parsley, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: Cheddar cheese, spinach, or red pepper flakes

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter in a medium skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the sliced mushrooms and minced garlic, cooking until mushrooms turn golden brown, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. In a bowl, blend the softened cream cheese and sour cream until smooth.
  4. Fold in the sautéed mushrooms, fresh herbs, salt, and pepper until well mixed.
  5. Transfer to an oven-safe dish and bake at 350°F for 20 minutes until bubbly.
  6. Garnish with extra herbs or cheese and serve warm with dippable items like pita chips or fresh vegetables.

Notes

For a healthier twist, you can substitute Greek yogurt for sour cream or use canned mushrooms in a pinch. Ensure mushrooms are fresh for the best flavor.
