Description
A tender ham glazed with a sweet and sticky maple bourbon sauce, perfect for holiday gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 bone-in ham (or boneless)
- 1 cup pure maple syrup
- 1/2 cup good-quality bourbon
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
- 2 cloves fresh garlic, minced
- Fresh thyme and rosemary (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 325°F (165°C).
- Score the surface of the ham in a diamond pattern.
- In a saucepan over medium heat, combine maple syrup, bourbon, brown sugar, Dijon mustard, and minced garlic; stir until bubbling gently.
- Place the scored ham on a roasting rack and brush half of the glaze over it.
- Roast the ham in the oven, basting with the remaining glaze every 30 minutes, until internal temperature reaches 140°F (about 2.5 to 3 hours).
- Let the ham rest for at least 15 minutes before slicing and serve warm.
Notes
Ensure to baste the ham frequently for a rich glaze. Let it rest after cooking to retain juices.
