Description

A hearty one-pan dish combining savory sausages with tender cabbage, enhanced by the sweetness of maple syrup and tanginess of Dijon mustard.

Ingredients

  • Sausages (pork, chicken, or turkey)
  • Cabbage (green or red), thinly sliced
  • Maple syrup, pure
  • Dijon mustard
  • Onion, diced
  • Garlic, minced
  • Olive oil
  • Spices (salt, pepper, optional paprika or red pepper flakes)
  • Fresh herbs (parsley or thyme)

Instructions

  1. Prep your ingredients: Slice the cabbage, dice the onion, and mince the garlic.
  2. Cook the sausage: In a large skillet over medium heat, add a drizzle of olive oil. Once hot, add the sliced sausages and cook until golden brown (about 5-7 minutes). Remove and set aside.
  3. Sauté the veggies: In the same skillet, add the diced onion and sauté for about 2 minutes. Add minced garlic and sliced cabbage, sautéing for another 5-7 minutes until tender.
  4. Combine and season: Return the sausage and drizzle maple syrup and Dijon. Stir well and season to taste.
  5. Finish off and serve: Let it cook together for 3 more minutes and garnish with fresh herbs.

Notes

This dish pairs beautifully with crusty bread or over rice for a filling meal. Adjust spices based on preference.
