Description

  • 1/2 cup unsulfured molasses

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line your baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, and salt.
  3. Cream the butter and brown sugar together in a large mixing bowl until light and fluffy (about 3-5 minutes).
  4. Add the molasses and egg, mixing until well combined.
  5. Gradually incorporate the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined, taking care not to overmix.
  6. Shape the dough into balls about 1 inch in diameter, and roll each ball in granulated sugar.
  7. Place the cookie balls on the baking sheets, spaced 2 inches apart, and bake for 10-12 minutes, until the edges are set but the centers are still soft.
