Description
A flavorful and tender ribeye rubbed with native pepperberry, creating a perfect harmony of spice and savory goodness.
Ingredients
- Ribeye Steaks (1 inch thick)
- Native Pepperberry (or crushed black pepper as substitute)
- Sea Salt
- Olive Oil or Butter
- Fresh Garlic (minced)
- Fresh Rosemary (chopped)
- Fresh Thyme or Oregano (chopped)
Instructions
- Remove ribeye steaks from the refrigerator and let reach room temperature (about 30 minutes).
- In a small bowl, combine crushed native pepperberry, sea salt, minced garlic, and chopped herbs. Mix in olive oil or melted butter to form a paste.
- Generously apply the rub to both sides of the ribeye steaks, massaging it in gently.
- Preheat a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat until very hot.
- Sear the ribeye steaks for about 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare, adjusting time for desired doneness.
- Remove the steaks from the skillet and let them rest for 5-10 minutes on a cutting board.
- Slice against the grain and serve with sides such as garlic sautéed mushrooms or roasted vegetables.
Notes
Ensure the skillet is hot enough before adding the steaks for a rich crust. Use a meat thermometer for precise doneness.
