- 1 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 large egg
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- Licorice or candy eyes for decoration
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, blend the softened butter, peanut butter, and sugars until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well incorporated.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour and baking soda, then add this mixture to the wet ingredients.
- Stir in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
- Using a cookie scoop, form dough balls about 1.5 inches in diameter and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
- Once cooled, decorate with licorice legs and candy eyes to form spiders.
- Enjoy fresh or store in an airtight container.
Notes
Ensure butter is softened but not melted to prevent cookies from spreading too much. Cookies should be soft in the center when taken out of the oven as they will firm up upon cooling.
