Description

Ingredients

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup crushed peppermint candies

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, blend the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Add the eggs, one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Gradually incorporate these dry ingredients into the wet mixture.
  5. Fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips.
  6. Drop spoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about two inches apart.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes, until the edges are golden and the centers are soft.
  8. Cool the cookies on a wire rack, then melt additional chocolate.
  9. Dip the cooled cookies halfway into the melted chocolate and sprinkle with crushed peppermint before it sets.
