Description

Delicious pumpkin cinnamon rolls infused with warm spices, perfect for autumn gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup pumpkin puree
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons yeast
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 cup butter, softened
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • 23 tablespoons milk (for glaze)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, combine warm milk and a teaspoon of sugar. Sprinkle in the yeast and let sit until frothy, about 5-10 minutes.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Add the yeast mixture, pumpkin puree, butter, and egg. Mix until a soft dough forms.
  3. Flour your countertop and knead the dough for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let rise for about an hour or until doubled in size.
  5. On a floured surface, roll the dough into a rectangle about ¼ inch thick. Spread softened butter, then sprinkle brown sugar and spices over the surface.
  6. Roll the dough tightly and slice into 12 equal pieces.
  7. Place rolls in a greased baking dish, cover, and let rise for another 30 minutes while preheating the oven to 375°F.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. For the glaze, combine powdered sugar with milk and vanilla until smooth.
  10. Once rolls cool slightly, drizzle glaze on top and serve.

Notes

Consider adding chopped pecans or walnuts for extra texture. Don’t rush the rising time for the best results!
