- 1 package of puff pastry (store-bought or homemade)
- 1 cup pumpkin puree (canned or fresh)
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- 2 tablespoons melted butter (for brushing)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a bowl, mix pumpkin puree, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and salt until smooth.
- Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface until thin and uniform.
- Cut the pastry into rectangles (approximately 3×4 inches).
- Spoon a tablespoon of the pumpkin mixture onto one end of each rectangle.
- Pinch the edges to seal, then twist gently to form a spiral.
- Beat the egg and brush a thin layer on top of each twist.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
- Let them cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
For a healthier option, replace granulated sugar with maple syrup or honey. Use gluten-free puff pastry for a gluten-free version.
