Description

Delightful pastry twists filled with spiced pumpkin, perfect for cozy fall afternoons.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package of puff pastry (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 cup pumpkin puree (canned or fresh)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter (for brushing)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix pumpkin puree, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and salt until smooth.
  3. Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface until thin and uniform.
  4. Cut the pastry into rectangles (approximately 3×4 inches).
  5. Spoon a tablespoon of the pumpkin mixture onto one end of each rectangle.
  6. Pinch the edges to seal, then twist gently to form a spiral.
  7. Beat the egg and brush a thin layer on top of each twist.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. Let them cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

For a healthier option, replace granulated sugar with maple syrup or honey. Use gluten-free puff pastry for a gluten-free version.
