Description

Festive macarons shaped like Santa’s belt, filled with delightful flavors to celebrate the holiday season.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup almond flour
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 3 large egg whites
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • Food coloring (red and green)
  • Your choice of filling (peppermint buttercream, chocolate ganache, spiced cream cheese frosting, etc.)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a clean mixing bowl, whisk the egg whites until foamy, gradually adding granulated sugar until stiff peaks form.
  3. Sift almond flour and powdered sugar together to eliminate clumps.
  4. Gently fold the sifted dry ingredients into the meringue, being careful not to deflate the batter.
  5. Add food coloring to reach desired hue.
  6. Pipe small rounds onto prepared baking sheets and let them rest for 20-30 minutes to form a crust.
  7. Bake for 15-20 minutes until dry to the touch.
  8. Cool completely, then fill and sandwich similar-sized shells.
  9. Allow filled macarons to rest in the fridge for at least a day before serving.

Notes

Room temperature eggs yield the best results; sift dry ingredients to avoid lumps.
