- 2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup brown sugar
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tsp ground ginger
- ½ tsp salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, nutmeg, cinnamon, and ginger.
- In a separate bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, and add a teaspoon of vanilla extract if desired.
- Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
- Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and chill for at least an hour.
- Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough onto a lined baking sheet and space them well apart.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.
- Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
Sprinkle a touch of sugar on top before baking for added sparkle. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to a week.
