Description

Ingredients

  • 2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp ground ginger
  • ½ tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, nutmeg, cinnamon, and ginger.
  3. In a separate bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the eggs one at a time, and add a teaspoon of vanilla extract if desired.
  5. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
  6. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and chill for at least an hour.
  7. Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough onto a lined baking sheet and space them well apart.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for about 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.
  9. Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes
