Description

Delightful Spiced Lamb Samosas served with a vibrant Mango Chutney, combining savory flavors with a tangy finishing touch.


Ingredients

  • Ground lamb
  • 1 medium onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 inch piece of ginger, minced
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp coriander
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh cilantro or mint, chopped
  • Samosa wrappers
  • Mango chutney

Instructions

  1. In a skillet, heat a tablespoon of oil over medium heat. Add chopped onions and cook until soft and golden.
  2. Stir in minced garlic and ginger, cooking for an additional minute until fragrant. Add ground lamb and cook until browned.
  3. Sprinkle in cumin, coriander, garam masala, cayenne, and salt. Mix well and simmer to let the flavors meld, then stir in fresh herbs.
  4. If making your own wrappers, combine flour, a pinch of salt, and warm water to form a dough. Knead until smooth and let it rest for 30 minutes.
  5. Cut your dough into circles. Add a spoonful of lamb mixture to the center, fold and seal the edges with water.
  6. Heat oil in a deep pan and fry the samosas until golden and crisp, turning occasionally. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  7. Serve with mango chutney.

Notes

You can make the filling ahead of time, and assemble the samosas later. Consider serving with a cucumber raita or mixed greens.
