- 1 lb sirloin or flank steak, sliced into 1-inch wide strips
- 1 cup all-purpose flour (or gluten-free flour)
- 2 large eggs (or flax eggs/cornstarch slurry)
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp pepper
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp paprika (add cayenne for spice)
- 1 cup breadcrumbs or panko (or gluten-free breadcrumbs)
- Cooking oil (vegetable, canola, or olive oil for frying)
Instructions
- Prepare the steak by slicing it into uniform 1-inch wide strips.
- Set up a breading station with flour mixed with salt and pepper, beaten eggs, and breadcrumbs.
- Dredge each steak piece in flour, then dip in egg, and finally coat with breadcrumbs.
- Heat about half an inch of oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
- Fry the steak fingers in batches for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown.
- Remove from the skillet and drain on paper towels. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
Notes
Ensure the oil is hot enough for a crispy texture. Allow the steak to come to room temperature before cooking.
