- 1 loaf rustic sourdough or baguette
- ½ cup unsalted butter
- 4–5 cloves fresh garlic, minced
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Fresh herbs (parsley, oregano, or basil)
- Optional: sautéed mushrooms
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Melt the unsalted butter in a skillet over medium heat and sauté minced garlic until golden brown (2-3 minutes).
- Slice the bread into thick slices (1 inch).
- Brush both sides of each slice with the garlic butter.
- Place bread on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Top slices with mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, until cheese is bubbly and edges are crispy.
- Optional: broil for 1 minute for extra crunch.
- Sprinkle with fresh herbs and serve warm.
Notes
For a lighter version, substitute butter with olive oil. Gluten-free bread can be used for those avoiding gluten.
