A delightful blend of sweet and spicy flavors, this Cowboy Candy combines fresh jalapeños, tart cranberry juice, and a sugary glaze, creating a perfect balance for appetizers or side dishes.

Ingredients

  • Fresh jalapeños
  • Cranberry juice
  • Granulated sugar
  • White or apple cider vinegar
  • Ground cloves
  • Cinnamon
  • Salt

Instructions

  1. Wash jalapeños thoroughly and slice them into rings, removing seeds if desired.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine cranberry juice, sugar, and vinegar. Stir over medium heat until the sugar dissolves completely.
  3. Add ground cloves, cinnamon, and salt into the syrup. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  4. Add jalapeño slices into the syrup, ensuring they’re fully coated. Simmer for an additional 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. Remove from heat and let cool. Transfer to sterilized jars and refrigerate.

Notes

This cowboy candy is best served chilled and lasts for weeks. Pair with cheese boards or as a topping for grilled meats.
