Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
- In another bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt; gradually add this mixture to the wet ingredients.
- Chill the dough in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
- Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface to about ¼ inch thick and use heart-shaped cookie cutters.
- Place cookies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 8-10 minutes, until the edges start to golden.
- Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
- Decorate with icing and sprinkles once cooled.
