Description
A comforting and flavorful Tuna Pasta Sauce that combines the richness of tuna with aromatic garlic and tangy tomatoes.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 can tuna (packed in olive oil)
- 8 oz pasta (spaghetti or penne)
- 2 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 can diced tomatoes
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp Italian herbs (basil, oregano, or parsley)
- Parmesan cheese (optional, for serving)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Red pepper flakes (optional, for added heat)
Instructions
- Cook pasta according to package instructions in salted water until al dente. Reserve a cup of pasta water, then drain.
- While pasta cooks, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes.
- Add drained tuna to the skillet, breaking it up with a spoon, and cook until warmed through.
- Mix in diced tomatoes and let the sauce simmer for about 5-7 minutes.
- Stir in fresh herbs and season with salt and pepper. If the sauce is too thick, add a splash of reserved pasta water.
- Combine the cooked pasta with the sauce in the skillet, tossing to coat evenly.
- Serve immediately, topped with grated Parmesan cheese and additional fresh herbs if desired.
