Description
A creamy and elegant dessert that features the rich flavor of vanilla beans, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon gelatin
- 2 vanilla beans, scraped
- 1 cup whole milk
Instructions
- Prepare the Gelatin: In a small bowl, sprinkle gelatin over cold water and allow it to bloom for about 5-10 minutes.
- Infuse the Cream: In a saucepan, combine the heavy cream, sugar, and the scraped vanilla beans along with the pod. Heat over medium until steaming, but not boiling. Stir until the sugar dissolves.
- Combine and Cool: Remove from heat, add the bloomed gelatin, and stir until fully dissolved.
- Strain: Strain the mixture through a fine sieve into a large measuring cup.
- Chill: Pour the mixture into ramekins and refrigerate for at least 240 minutes or until set.
- Serve: Unmold the panna cotta by dipping the bottom of the ramekin in warm water for about 10 seconds, then invert onto a plate.
Notes
For a dairy-free option, substitute heavy cream with coconut milk. Use agar-agar for a vegetarian alternative to gelatin.
