Description

A creamy and elegant dessert that features the rich flavor of vanilla beans, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon gelatin
  • 2 vanilla beans, scraped
  • 1 cup whole milk

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Gelatin: In a small bowl, sprinkle gelatin over cold water and allow it to bloom for about 5-10 minutes.
  2. Infuse the Cream: In a saucepan, combine the heavy cream, sugar, and the scraped vanilla beans along with the pod. Heat over medium until steaming, but not boiling. Stir until the sugar dissolves.
  3. Combine and Cool: Remove from heat, add the bloomed gelatin, and stir until fully dissolved.
  4. Strain: Strain the mixture through a fine sieve into a large measuring cup.
  5. Chill: Pour the mixture into ramekins and refrigerate for at least 240 minutes or until set.
  6. Serve: Unmold the panna cotta by dipping the bottom of the ramekin in warm water for about 10 seconds, then invert onto a plate.

Notes

For a dairy-free option, substitute heavy cream with coconut milk. Use agar-agar for a vegetarian alternative to gelatin.
