Description

Ingredients

  • 23 tbsp milk (for icing)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract (for icing)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, beat together the butter, brown sugar, and molasses until fluffy.
  4. Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and stir until a dough forms.
  6. Shape the dough into small balls and place them on a lined baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 8-10 minutes until the edges are firm. Let them cool on a wire rack.
  8. For the icing, whisk powdered sugar with milk and vanilla until smooth. Drizzle over cooled cookies.
  9. Serve and enjoy!

Notes

For added fun, use cookie cutters to shape the dough before baking. Allowing cookies to cool before icing prevents the icing from melting.
