Description
A delightful explosion of flavors with crispy chicken coated in a sweet and savory glaze, perfect for family gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound Chicken Breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 2 Eggs, beaten
- ½ cup Cornstarch for coating
- ¼ cup Sesame Seeds, toasted
- ¼ cup Soy Sauce
- 2 tablespoons Honey
- 2 tablespoons Sesame Oil
- 2 cloves Garlic, minced (or 1 teaspoon dried garlic)
- 1 tablespoon Ginger, minced (optional)
- Vegetable Oil for frying
Instructions
- Prep the Chicken: Begin by cutting the chicken into bite-sized pieces.
- Marinate: In a bowl, mix soy sauce, honey, garlic, and ginger (if using). Toss the chicken in this marinade for at least 30 minutes.
- Coat the Chicken: In a separate bowl, add the beaten eggs. In another bowl, place the cornstarch. Dredge each marinated chicken piece in cornstarch and dip it in the egg.
- Fry: In a skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium-high flame. Cook until golden brown and crispy, about 4-5 minutes on each side.
- Create the Sauce: In a saucepan, combine remaining marinade ingredients (soy sauce, honey, sesame oil) and heat gently.
- Combine: After frying, add the crispy chicken to the saucepan and coat it with the sauce. Toss in toasted sesame seeds.
- Serve: Plate your Crispy Sesame Chicken with a side of steamed rice or fluffy noodles and garnish with green onions.
Notes
For a healthier twist, bake the chicken at 400°F for 20-25 minutes instead of frying.
