Description

A nostalgic barbecue chicken recipe marinated in a savory blend of spices, combining sweetness and tang for an unforgettable flavor experience.

Ingredients

  • Chicken (breast or thighs)
  • Barbecue sauce
  • Olive oil
  • Garlic powder
  • Onion powder
  • Brown sugar
  • Apple cider vinegar
  • Salt
  • Freshly ground black pepper

Instructions

  1. Rinse the chicken pieces under cold water and pat dry with paper towels.
  2. In a bowl, combine olive oil, barbecue sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, salt, and black pepper until smooth.
  3. Place the chicken in a zipped plastic bag or bowl, pour the marinade over it, seal or cover, and let marinate for at least 2 hours (overnight is best).
  4. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat and oil the grates to prevent sticking.
  5. Grill the marinated chicken for 30-40 minutes, flipping every 10 minutes, brushing with extra barbecue sauce as desired.
  6. Ensure the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F before removing from the grill.
  7. Let the chicken rest for 10 minutes before serving.
  8. Garnish with fresh herbs if desired and serve with your favorite sides.

Notes

Always start with room temperature chicken for even cooking. Avoid overcrowding the grill for the best results.
